//Celebrating Women’s Month: Keeping Girls in School

Helderberg Gazette in conjunction with District Mail, is running a project during August called:

“Keep a Girl in School Sanitary Towel Project”

The project sees the Helderberg Gazette & District Mail collecting sanitary towels to be distributed to schools across the Helderberg basin.

Month after month, many young women in disadvantaged areas have to face the prospect of skipping important school days when their menstrual cycle arrives, or they have unhygienic and unhealthy ways of managing their period.

The aim of this project is to bring relief to these girls so that they are able to make the most of their opportunities to become educated.

The campaign is being run until WEDNESDAY 31 AUGUST 2016 in celebration of Women’s Month.

We invite parents to support this initiative through donations of sanitary products to make a difference in the lives of these girls.

We will have a container in front of the Bizweni Pre-Primary office where parents can place these products.

The products will be collected by the Helderberg Gazette representatives. They will distribute collections to the various schools in need.

Please support this amazing initiative. Every donation helps.
